Rasheed for Integrity and Transparency (Transparency International – Jordan) held a focus group session today June 26th 2018 to discuss the method and content of a curriculum for Integrity, Accountability, and Anti-Corruption. The session took place in Rasheed (TI-JO)’s office in Amman with the participation of a group of academics, specialists, and stakeholders with the support of Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
The upcoming curriculum will discuss corruption in terms of its definition, causes, and consequences. The curriculum will identify the regulatory bodies relevant to corruption prevention and fighting corruption, including the Jordanian Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC), the Audit Bureau, the Independent Electoral Commission, and non-governmental actors. It will also define the legal anti-corruption framework in Jordan, and explain the role of national legislations and international conventions in the fight against corruption.
This effort and initiative spurs from Rasheed (TI – JO)’s belief in the role of youth in anchoring the principles of integrity and anti-corruption in the Jordanian society, which will have a long-term impact on the national economy, and contribute to raising socially aware and conscious future leaders who believe in the rule of law, and act on the bases of transparency and integrity.
A group of public service activists formed Rasheed (TI-JO) at the end of 2013 as a non-profit civil society organization. Rasheed (TI-JO) commenced its activities at its office in Amman in early April of 2014 based on a vision for a Jordan with a strong national integrity system, and a mission to strengthen the foundations of good governance based on transparency, integrity, accountability and the rule of law through advocacy, monitoring, monitoring, research and community awareness. Rasheed (TI-JO) is the national chapter of Transparency International.
