In February 2024, Rasheed for Integrity and Transparency (Transparency International – Jordan) organized three discussion sessions in Irbid, Karak, and Salt governorates as part of the “Nazaha” project. To discuss the modernization of municipal manuals related to the development of participatory strategic plans and gender-responsive budgets. Co-funded by the European Union, the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, and in cooperation with the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, the Ministry of Local Administration, and the Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs.
The sessions were attended by representatives from civil society organizations and local government entities, including representatives from the Greater Salt Municipality, Sahab Municipality, Greater Karak Municipality, Ashari Municipality, Moab Municipality, Greater Irbid Municipality, Bab Amman Municipality, and Umm Al Jamal Municipality.
The Executive Director of Rasheed Abeer Madanat, said: “These sessions come as part of ongoing efforts to promote transparency and integrity in government work, achieve justice, equality and equal opportunities between genders, and promote sustainable and balanced development in Jordan.”
These sessions were organized in order to activate cooperation and coordination with various official institutions, local authorities, civil society organizations, and international organizations related to budget, women and gender, in order to update municipal guides and develop strategic plans in line with social needs and aspirations.
