Rasheed for Integrity and Transparency (Transparency International – Jordan) launched the party dialogue platform on August 7, 2024, under the patronage of His Excellency Engineer Musa Al-Maaytah, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Electoral Commission, and the Deputy Head of the European Union Mission, Her Excellency Ms. Angela Martini, representative of the European Union, participated in this launch. The Deputy Head of Mission of the Spanish Embassy, Her Excellency Mrs. Estibalez de Jobcochea, representative of the Spanish Embassy, along with a number of representatives of licensed Jordanian parties, political and legal activists, and representatives of civil society organizations.
Al Marsad al Hizbi is a youth initiative that has developed a digital tool under the name “Political Party Dialogue Platform.” The platform provides a tool for approaching users’ political orientations through a set of questions that are analyzed through artificial intelligence, and providing recommendations for party programs that are closest to their orientations, in particular Citizens who are not involved in party activity.
The platform also aims to enhance transparency and communication between licensed political parties and citizens, and seeks to reduce the gap between the two sides by providing an interactive dialogue space. This space enables users to discuss the parties’ principles, internal regulations, and electoral programs, which contributes to bridging viewpoints and increasing citizens’ involvement in political life. The platform also provides a space for male and female activists and civil society organizations to present national issues that parties can adopt.
His Excellency Engineer Musa Al-Maaytah, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission, said:
The importance of the political party dialogue platform lies in the consolidation of the concept of transparency and accountability that it provided and in allowing the citizen to communicate with the parties, especially since the Independent Election Commission has contributed by providing information about the parties on the authority’s website, and this is what the partisan dialogue platform supported, as it made all the information transparently available in a simplified manner. About licensed parties within one platform and putting them in the hands of citizens. This project represents the vision of the Jordanian state in developing political life to reach a parliament based on collective action. It also encourages youth participation in political life.
Rasheed’s Executive Director, Abeer Madanat, added, “Rashid for Integrity and Transparency, which is the national branch of Transparency International, has created various tools to consolidate good governance and to monitor and follow up on the implementation of international agreements, and implement several programs to empower various segments of society, including the youth, and raise their efficiency so that they can play a pivotal role in Community movement towards reform. Because we believe in the importance of having a stimulating and incubating environment for youth participation, honing their skills, giving them sufficient space to participate in setting national priorities and decision-making, and contributing to monitoring and accountability to encourage their initiatives and support the will to give in society with the goal of change for the better.
This platform is part of the “Nazaha” project, which is implemented with joint support from the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation and the European Union. The project aims to enhance social accountability and enable civil society institutions to reach good governance, in cooperation with the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, the Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, and the Ministry of Local Administration.
