Rasheed (Transparency International – Jordan) concluded today the second training session on the Public Hearing Procedural Manual, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote good governance and social accountability at the local level.

The training focused on enhancing the ability of municipalities to hold effective public hearings to enhance community participation, providing a platform for citizens to voice their concerns and enable local decision-makers to consider public input before making final decisions.

Both training sessions saw strong engagement from participating municipalities and civil society organizations, contributing to a dynamic exchange of experiences and reinforcing the importance of inclusive, transparent governance.

Participating in today’s training were the municipalities of Zarqa, Karak, Sahab, and Ma’an. Also taking part were civil society organizations: Khatwatona Association, Family Affairs Care Association, Princess Basma Center – Sahab, Future Makers Center for Studies and Development, and the Creativity Club Karak.

The training is within Nazaha project “ EU support to social accountability and empowering civil society for better governance “ The project is jointly supported by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation and the European Union. It aims to promote social accountability and empower civil society organizations to achieve good governance.
