“Rasheed” Launches Integrity Schools 2022

Ajloun– Rasheed Integrity and Transparency (Transparency International – Jordan) launched today the first Integrity Summer School within the project ” integrity School and Academy 2022 (ISA)”, for the third year, this unique project is supported by the German Federal Foreign Office and funded through the “zivik funding program of the Institut Für Auslandsbeziehungen (ifa)”, a German organization for international cultural relations.

The fifteen young participants from different governorates of Jordan aged 18 – 30 will receive a seven-day training and scouting program that will discuss topics related to integrity, anti-corruption, human rights, democracy, conflict management, social accountability, and advocacy.

The “ISA 2022” project aims to build the capacity of young people, enhance their active participation in the application of democratic values and principles, and qualify them to engage and participate in the process of social accountability, by adopting societal issues in which the participants will research in depth to provide innovative solutions and recommendations that seek to solve these issues.

This project includes implementing three more schools this year and an academy that will provide three specialized training programs for the alumnus of previous integrity schools.

Scouting is an essential component of the schools to enhance the participant’s responsibility and personal integrity as it is reflected in the collective behavior of working as a team.

This culture enhances individuals’ awareness of solidarity, communication, and coordination among them to achieve the requirements of the public interest, which will be reflected in their interactions in their daily lives and Jordan’s distant future.

Like other integrity schools around the world organized by the national chapters of Transparency International in Tunisia, Palestine, Lithuania, Turkey, and other countries, this school is considered a base for promoting teamwork, solidarity, social work, and conflict management.

The Executive Director of “Rasheed” Abeer Mdanat, stated that the ISA 2022 is built on the successes it achieved in its first and second phases in 2020 and 2021 respectively, as the project was able to deepen the participants’ understanding of the importance of engaging in social accountability issues and its role of consolidating integrity and transparency to combating corruption, in addition to supporting communication between them from north to south of Jordan and supporting concerted efforts and coordination.

The Projects Manager, Sana’ Al-Awamleh, said: “We have noticed that the previous schools deepened the personal aspects of the participants, which contributed positively to increasing their time commitment, teamwork, and the etiquette of discussion and persuasion. The Participants expressed their positive impact of these schools on activating their values and enhancing their involvement in society.”
